BEL AIR, MARYLAND, August 7, 2022 — For Maryland engineer, Michael Chavira, a typical day requires striking a balance between applying his top-tier engineering skills and managing the established military-adjacent business, Axiologic Solutions.
Chavira transitioned into a private enterprise after a successful career in the United States Navy with a job in the IT consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, and it was from here that the idea of launching Axiologic Solutions with business partner Thomas Stauber started to form.

Personal Focus
The first two skills go hand-in-hand. In the Navy, service members quickly learn the value of personal contribution and how it leads to the overall success of an objective. Without dedication to completing a job completely and in a timely fashion, the team structure suffers in addition to projects. Based on the current assignment, bad work can even have a human cost.
Teamwork
Michael Chavira explains crafting a team is a cornerstone of military service, but in the military, the concept of “team” extends much further. It goes beyond basic working together to engineering a specific trust allowing individuals to operate at an individual level while remaining a cohesive group. Training creates a consistent awareness of personal responsibility as well as each person’s role relative to the group moving forward safely and effectively. Leadership
While enrolled at the University of Wyoming, Michael Chavira pursued his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering. Shortly after graduation, Chavira attended Officers Candidate School, a physically and academically rigorous environment. Chavira was successful and started in the Navy as a nuclear officer before transitioning to intelligence. As a leader, one is responsible for creating and maintaining the teamwork necessary for both daily management and specific operations. From the management of routine daily necessities to assessing morale and addressing issues, the Navy helped Chavira develop the exceptional leadership skills he relies on today.
Technical
College provided Michael Chavira with a firm background in engineering, and the military put this into action during his service. After leaving the military, he was able to transfer this knowledge into the development and integration of sensor systems for the Army and warfighters.
Curiosity
From the early days of OCS, the military showed Chavira that a commitment to growth is essential to retain the vigor and expand horizons. He applied this curiosity and growth focus immediately through continuing his education and earning three master’s degrees — an MBA, systems engineering, and finance. The learning process continues daily as Axiologic Solutions continues to grow and thrive.
