Age Limit:

Unlike many other tests, there is no age limit enforced on the Maha TET. Candidates of any age are free to apply for the Maha TET and promptly give the test. What matters is meeting all the factors in the eligibility criteria – not the age itself.

Educational Qualifications:

This is, undoubtedly, the most important factor in the eligibility criteria and the chief one that the board pays attention to. The educational qualification required for a Primary School Teacher and a Secondary School Teacher vary. They are as follows:

Primary TET (Class 1 to 5): Candidates appearing for the Primary TET must have at least 50% marks in their intermediate (Class 12) exam.

Secondary TET (Class 6 to 8): Candidates appearing for the Secondary TET must have at least a 2-year Diploma course in Primary Education from a recognized university.

Nationality requirements:

All candidates must be of Indian nationality. Candidates of foreign nationality will not be considered and their applications will be immediately rejected.

Domicile requirements:

The candidate must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra to give the Maha TET. They should also have all the documents required to prove the same at hand. While candidates from other states can also apply for the Maha TET, they will not receive any relaxations in the Maha TET cut-off.
